Eid day….

spent with friends and family….prayers out in the open in a nearby park….rides for the children and the not so young….back home for a breakfast full of homemade baking…gifts opening afterwards…and friends for a bbq soon after….a mad house full of laughter, good food, friends old and new, lots of reminiscing. my  oh my how much have the children grown….so nice to see them turning into very confident young men and women…and plenty of harmless matchmaking…have I every told you that I’m the group’s Mrs Bennet?….“Certainly, my dear, nobody said there were; but as to not meeting with many people in this neighbourhood, I believe there are few neighbourhoods larger. I know we dine with four-and-twenty families.” 

The night before is always a very busy time at ours too….a banner to be made…baking and last minute present making…..oh so much fun…Alhamdulilah

Planning…

with Eid (the party to mark the end of Ramadan) fast approaching we are at that stage when we need to agree on what goodies to bake….this year’s finalists….

little one has big plans…nothing new there….she has started on the cards for her big sisters and as soon as we get the last bits for the banner this afternoon it will be go go go….no stopping her…

Some sewing too…cause we are planning a few outings and little one needs more than just one dress……nothing much to show yet but planning to have it finished  off tonight insh’Allah…..

and we plan and Allah is the best of planners…..like we are also planning to pray in the park on Eid day and enjoy the little fun fair rides afterwards but the weather does not look very promising…..we’ll have to wait and see…

I stayed up till very late but it was all worth it (did I just say that?!?!). Everyone loved them and I was so happy to have the lovely sisters and their wild children at home for a nice cuppa and lots of laughter.

Ramadan is over but there is reward to be gained in shawal too. In fact , seeking the reward of Allah, our creator, should always be in our minds, hearts and souls no matter what. May Allah continue to bless us always.
