Harvest Wednesday…

not the traditional harvest and show day in blogland but who cares….life is happening quite fast over here with home schooling killing me and little one not cooperating much  in full swing and other mundane things….but it’s all good…nobody is complaining….

Do you see those colourful peppers? I’m so chaffed with them….I’ve been getting plenty of green ones but when it comes to read or yellow not so many….when I let them on the plant to colour they go off….so happy with them…

I’m going to try making green tomatoes chutney….the ones outside are not going to turn red anytime soon and we are running out of time ….green tomato chutney it is folks…waste not want not and all that….

and now back to the story of 6….or a poem or two….hard to tell with the little one…thanks god for the independent 15 year old homeschooler….

I heart tapestry crochet…

and I love the fact that I was able to work out the pattern by myself…inspiration from here.….not sure what is going to be….a large cushion….a blanket….hanging decoration? …we shall see….

I’m dead tired from all the Eid celebration partying yesterday and soon a couple of friends are coming to help me finish off all the cakes but still I find time to crochet……I need crochet in my life…when I’m tired…when I’m stressed….when I’m fed up….

I leave you with some Eid related pics…..

Leeks and lilies….

I picked the first two of the year this morning…

and I’ve planted some Calla Lilies too…or is it transplanted? Long story short…at the beginning of Summer , Josephine, two plots down from me, promised me some cuttings from her beautiful lilies…she has hundreds if not thousands of them…so this morning she came to my plot with a few cuttings and some rooty thingys….I’ve buried the roots in a pot and the cuttings I have planted in another two pots….I should have plenty of my own Calla lilies next year ins’Allah….looking forward to having vases full of them inside the house too….

Wasn’t today a glorious day for gardening? I can’t believe the season is coming to an end when the sun is shining so bright out there…..part of me is looking forward to the Autumn too though….I think I just like the change of rhythm that comes with the changes of seasons..subhan’Allah
