I had to do it….

It’s been a bit of a hellish week but it is starting to brighten up , alhamdulilah….dd3 had to be hospitalized….to cut a long story short, she needed intravenous antibiotics for a very nasty flu which had her riddled with infection ….alhamdulilah we are home ….she continues to need medication and further treatments but as an outpatient…brave little thing…I don’t know how she does it but she manages to sleep with a canula on her little arm….we will go in the mornings into hospital….to the eye hospital first to check the eye is healing well and then to the main hospital for a top up…insh’Allah

So, yeah….first night of normal after a few days of craziness and what’s the first thing I do? Crochet , of course. I guess I need normal to resume…or perhaps I need to forget, to think of nothing….maybe I need to do dhikr in silence, to thank God for His mercy….whatever the reason, it feels good….Alhamdulilah….

A little cardigan for dd3….for being brave…and for being the smallest…I don’t do big projects, remember? 🙂

Week 6/52…

inspired by this book….but first let me tell you about week 5…..well in two words or one rather…a flop…whatever I was thinking of when I decided that techno free evenings were the way forward for me!!!! I tried…the first evening I went all the way to 9pm, then I looked all around me and realized everyone else was either sleeping or doing their own thing, most probably in front of a screen…who was I kidding? My kids do not need me my attention after dinner has been served and eaten …my dh can live without it too and me giving up the screen does not bring anything to this family…period So, on to week 6….I’m playing it safe but that’s ok…I’m feeling a bit down so I’m going to do what helps me in this situation…I’m going to organize/declutter…tidy those corners that need a bit of T.L.C……so, come back in a week if you want before and afters…. Beanies and other distractions….

WP_20150202_14_32_09_Pro[1]

with these crocheted beanies I have officially perfected the art of procrastination….I am the queen of procrastination one could say….the thing is they are so easy to make and sooo in demand around here…I’m even making them for my daughter’s friends….hard to resist….and the other thing is that bigger projects require bigger motivation even where they are 90% finished….

So, I think it’s best if I own up and admit here that I will not be tackling the big blanket joining up until the days are longer or I get a charitable soul willing to give me the proverbial kick in the butt….and in the meantime I have two shawls to crochet; one for my mama and one for my sister…the deadline is 19th of this month…the day I will be travelling to see them…wish me luck…and what do you think of the colours?  the orange one for my sister and the other light brown one for mama….I can’t decide on the pattern….chevron  or this one? Perhaps one of each….insh’Allah
