My poor poor blueberries…

did not stand a chance next to the raspberries…how was I supposed to know that the 6 canes I planted last year were going to multiply by a hundred at least?….Imagine my surprise when a few weeks ago I noticed lots and lots of new shoots all along the very long raised bed….something told me that I had to do something about the blueberries that were quickly being swamped…I asked around and the advice was to give them a home of their own and according to the experts  they do very well in pots as long as the soil used is ericace0us…let’s hope they survive the move and we have an abundant harvest…..I need them for my greek yogurt breakfast al fresco…badly…..insh’Allah

they do look much happier on their own…..don’t you just love learning on the job? I certainly do….is the best part of being a gardener, if you ask me…

Pinterest envy…

it is a well known fact around here that I have the green fingers and the brains when it comes to the allotment and gardening in general… BUT and that is a big but, I need to tell you that my dear husband is the best assistant one could wish for….I plan and he delivers…..so…a while back I showed him a few pics that I had saved on my pinterest board to do with guttering growing….I was thinking that I could hang them up in the greenhouse thus maximising the space etc etc….long story short last weekend I got my wish…only the guttering was more of a drainage pipe cut in half…LOL….he tries but as he tells me he has to work with what he’s got….LOL….wanna see them…here they are…

I now have two of those full of strawberries….they are not pinterest worthy  but I’m one happy lady…the problem is going to be hanging them up….lol…I’ll keep you posted…

Chitting away…

this is only my second year growing potatoes ….I did not think I would do it again this year but here I am again…don’t take me wrong I loved the whole process last year and we got very good results but I thought they took too much space that I could not afford….anyways long story short here I am again growing potatoes…. they are still on my windowsill…chitting away…1st of April, rain or shine, is when they will be planted in the raised beds…..

And a cushion…

this one I started a while back but it needed the filling…..then it needed a zip but in the end I did without the zip and just closed it by joining up the two sides…like when joining granny squares…simple …

Baskets….

I love love love quick and easy projects once in a while…the inbetweeners I call them…you know when you are working on one or two or three bigger projects like a massive blanket or something more elaborate you need to break up the routine….quickies are also the perfect procrastinator….I’ve lost count of the WIPs lying around the house right now ….still… I had to make these two baskets….I think they are just perfect….big one for storing yarn and little one for small projects….
