A grey hat…

this one for my hubby…a fast and simple project…the man hat …hope he likes it…he definitely needs it in this cold weather….a grey woolly hat is the perfect accessory for a man , don’t you agree?

November at the allotment…

not much to do apart from tidying up and doing those jobs that can’t be done when the plot is at full swing…more mulching, topping up and some sowing….

so….after consulting with the experts at the gardening fb forum I belong to I came to the conclusion that it was quite safe and bound to produce good results if I sowed broad beans this time of the year …who would have thought….mind you , the experts were split between sowing indoors or outdoors so I’m doing both…kind of an experiment and see what works best…

the idea is to get an early crop and then use the same beds for other spring vegetable…my ambition of using the plot all year round is starting to take shape…yay…

One day, one season, one year at a time…..I look back and I’m quite pleased with all I have achieved and learnt …feeling blessed….

Wishing you all a peaceful and productive week…

November at the allotment…

the sun was out this morning so hubby and I decide to do the last of the tidying up…….all raised beds are now topped up, mulched and weeded….only veg still growing are cabbages, leeks, parsnips and the overwintering garlic and cauliflowers….I’m in two minds about sowing broad beans now or waiting for the Spring….apparently doing it now it reduces the chances of diseases plus you get a much earlier crop….might give it a go one day next week weather permitting..
